"Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here."

I began my more committed music life when I started The Parson Red Heads many years ago. The many years of songwriting and music production experience I gained there I brought to bear on House of Angels, my solo project that sounds like a full band. I wrote and recorded an album mostly by myself entitled "Era Ephemera." I played several concerts in support of the album, then began a family and a teaching job, which put music virtually on hold for me for many years.

In those busy and early days of fatherhood and teaching, I somehow managed to keep writing here and there, this time with the creative support of  two longtime friends, William Johnson and David Swensen.  Billy and David brought rich adornments to the ethereal, somewhat medieval alt-folk/rock thing I was chasing. We named our project Festival and released a six song EP and a full-length album. The latter was just released in 2026. We were able to bring that out on vinyl through Parson Farm Records.

Now that I've become more accustomed to fathering (my most important occupation) , I am finding an increasing creative vitality and am seeking to take greater opportunity for sharing the music I've created, in live and recorded contexts.
